Boatman and Andrae achieve major A.I.-career Milestones

Waupun, Wis. – In recent months, two East Central/Select Sires artificial insemination (A.I.) technicians achieved significant milestones in their careers. Bob Boatman, Darlington, Wis., made East Central/Select Sires history by being the first to achieve 200,000 A.I. services, and on Feb. 12, we celebrated Rod Andrae, also of Darlington, and his achievement of 150,000 A.I. services.

"Both of these men are very successful A.I. technicians and offer their customers the very best customer service in the business," noted Jerome Meyer, East Central/Select Sires general manager. "Their dedication to the reproductive success of the dairy and beef producers they serve is commendable."

It is customary for East Central/Select Sires to recognize their employees with lunch parties when they reach certain milestones, such as 100,000, 150,000, and 200,000 A.I. services. Prairieland Dairy, Belleville, allowed the staff at East Central/Select Sires to use their break room on the farm and have a celebration in Boatman's honor. A variety of speeches from Boatman's customers made it clear his dedication over the years has been instrumental in making their farms successful.

Andrae's celebration party was at Highway Dairy Farms, LLC., Darlington. He was with Accelerated Genetics for 16 years prior to joining the family at East Central/Select Sires with the partnership between Select Sires Inc. and Accelerated Genetics in 2017.

East Central/Select Sires is a professional-, artificial-breeding cooperative located in Waupun and serving dairy and livestock producers in southern Wisconsin. As a member-owner of Select Sires Inc. located near Plain City, Ohio, East Central/Select Sires helps make up the largest A.I. cooperative in the world.
