TK-Plain-View Dairy Farm sits five minutes outside of West Liberty, a small town in western Ohio. The farm was bought by Darrel and Sara King in 1973 where they registered cattle under the prefix Darr-Sa-Sons. They have three sons Scott, Tony and Matthew who all grew up on the farm milking Holstein cows. Tony developed his passion for the dairy industry through working on the farm and showing at the Champaign County Fair. Tony married his wife Cynthia in 1992 and in 1997, Tony took over the farm and started using the prefix TK-Plain-View. They have five children Garret, Kayla, Hayden, Sami and Silas. They currently milk 40 head of Holstein cattle and have 50 heifers.
The cow who started it for Tony and Cynthia was Darr-Sa-Sons Lindsey EX 94. She was born March 3, 1996. She created many great heifers over the years.
Over the years they have shown at the county, state and national level. Throughout those years there have been many Champaign County Fair Grand Champions and Junior Champions. At the Ohio State Fair there have been many class winners, Intermediate Champions and in 2007 at the 50th Ohio State Futurity TK-Plain-View Belwod Janey EX 91 took home first place.
Markers Bond Olive classified 3E-94 and was the start of a great cow family. She is the dam of Markers Dundee Olivia who is also classified 3E-94. Markers Dundee Olivia was shown at the county and state level. She was All Ohio and Junior All Ohio multiple times throughout her life.
One special cow and developing family is TK-Plain-View Remi EX-93 and the dam of TK-Plain-View Ripley EX-95, now owned by Milk Source LLC, of Wisconsin. Ripley has had recent success at the national level propelling the TK-Plain-View prefix into the spotlight. At the 2017 World Dairy Expo she placed first, Best Udder in class and Honorable Mention Senior and Grand Champion of the show. That same year, at the Royal, she placed first and Best Uddered Five-Year-Old as well as Reserve Grand Champion of the show. TK-Plain-View Ripley has a long line of excellent cows behind her, her granddam was EX-93 Markers Roy Regina. There are full sisters to TK-Plain-View Ripley in the herd and her dam is currently being flushed to Doorman.
Bulls that are being used on the farm include Val-Bisson Doorman, Maverick Crush, Walnutlawn Solomon, Pen-Col Merrick and Lirr Drew Dempsey. Along with TK-Plain-View MC Ridge, a son of TK-Plain-View Ripley.
